COOPEAGRI PRESENTS IMPACT OF FAIR TRADE IN SPAIN ON ITS
50TH ANNIVERSARY
About the Conference:
The Cooperative Agricultural, Industrial and Multi-Services El General R.L (Coopeagri R.L) in Pérez Zeledon, Costa Rica, is celebrating its 50th Anniversary on November 25th, 2012.
To commemorate this event the cooperative is organizing several activities at national and international levels held throughout 2012.
Within these commemorative activities, we will hold a joint meeting in Barcelona Spain, where we will make a presentation on the impact of the “Fair-trade Cooperative Model in the Community of Perez Zeledon, in the conference room Alternative3. A clear example of the fair trade model is also capable of uniting people and cultures.
These Fair Trade producers in Costa Rica are aimed at the solidarity meeting:
- To Show that the Fair Trade model is an ideal tool to empower small farmers, capable of developing justice in harmony with environmental and social responsibility.
- To declare the fair trade system as a universal intelligent, globalized economy it should take into account, not to repeat the historical path of socializing losses and privatizing profits.
- To sensitize consumers to make ethical and responsible consumption.
- To seek partnerships for future development initiatives, customers, ethical banking and new players to strengthen fair trade as a platform for a responsible and united world.
